A man's body was found in a shallow grave off Route 115 in Carbon County Monday night, officials said.
A property owner found the body of Jubar Hughes in a wooded area in Kidder Township, near the Monroe County line, said Bruce Nalesnic, the Carbon County coroner.
Hughes, 33, of Newark, N.J., was in the grave for less than 24 hours, said Nalesnic, who was unsure how long he had been dead.
The coroner's office and state police at Fern Ridge are handling the investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled.
