MAHONING TWP., Pa. -

DUI victims across the state were remembered in Carbon County Thursday.

The Pennsylvania DUI Moving Memorial stopped in Mahoning Township Thursday morning.

The thirty-foot trailer lists over 1,000 names of people killed by impaired drivers.

Officials say the timing of the event was important.

"Although this time of year is a beloved and patriotic celebration of our nation's birthday, it is also a deadly season on our nation's highways," said Carbon County Assistant District Attorney Jean Engler.

Authorities say this time of year sees a spike in alcohol-related traffic accidents and are reminding everyone to be safe over the July 4th holiday.
