An old bridge has been put to rest.
Thursday crews imploded the last bits of the Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge over Pohopoco Creek in Parryville, Carbon County.
The bridge is between the Mahoning Valley exit and the Lehigh Tunnel.
The implosion is the latest step in wrapping up this project.
The old bridges over Lehigh River and Pohopoco Creek were built in 1957.
They were replaced by new spans last fall.
The project should be completed by this fall.
