Police: Monroe Co. woman stole $650 worth of electricity from PPL

COOLBAUGH TWP., Pa. -

A Monroe County woman has been arrested on charges she used electricity without paying for it.

Police arrested Gloria Farrell of Coolbaugh Twp. on June 27 after an investigator from PPL discovered that Farrell had stolen electricity worth $650 from PPL.

The investigator discovered that the PPL meter at Farrell's home in the Pocono Farms development in Coolbaugh Twp. had been tampered with to stop the rate reading to the meter.

Farrell was charged with theft of services.
