A 22-year-old Pine Grove man is dead following a single vehicle accident overnight on Wild Cherry Road.

At 1:05 a.m. Saturday, John Webb Jr.was traveling west at a high rate of speed when his 1999 Dodge Dakota crossed the center line at a curve near Manbeck's Zion Evangelical Church and continued across the eastbound lane before striking a tree, according to state police.

Webb was pronounced dead at the scene by the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office.

Police said Webb was not wearing a seat-belt.

The accident remains under investigation.
