Two would-be robbers went away empty-handed after they tried to rob a Monroe County motel, police said.
The Stroud Area Regional Police are looking for two males who attempted to hold up a nighttime desk clerk at the Quality Inn on West Main Street early Wednesday.
Police said a man showed the clerk a semi-automatic handgun and a note demanding money around 2:35 a.m.
The robber was described as Hispanic with a goatee, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and black work boots.
The second male was described as a juvenile, about 14 or 15 years old, who acted as the lookout and appeared nervous, police said. He was wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and sneakers.
Police said the two fled empty-handed in an unknown direction as the clerk had no money to surrender.
