COOLBAUGH TWP., Pa. -

A 9-year-old Tobyhanna boy had to be flown to the hospital after reportedly being run over by a vehicle Wednesday evening, officials say.

Pocono Mountain Region Police responded to the intersection of Rob Roy Dr. and Dorchester Rd. in Coolbaugh Twp. around 6:20 p.m., according to police.

Jerry Cribbs, 55, of Tobyhanna was the driver of the vehicle that struck the 9-year-old boy who was riding his bike in the development neighborhood, police say.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a Life Flight helicopter which transported him to a nearby trauma center.

The condition of the child is unknown at this time.

There is no word on what may have caused the accident or if any charges are being filed against Cribbs.
