Gregory Ward charged after interfering with police
Mahoning Township man arrested Aug. 10
Gregory Ward, 52, of 2093 Mahoning Drive East was arrested Aug. 10 after interfering with Mahoning Township Police.
Police were dispatched to that address to check on the welfare of a female who had called the crisis hotline. When officers detained the woman for a medical evaluation, Ward tried to stop them from placing her in a police car.
Police report he shoved an officer and attempted to prevent others from closing the police car door.
He was charged with two misdemeanors -- obstructing administration of law and persistent disorderly conduct -- and a summary offense for harassment.
Ward was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek and placed in Carbon County Prison in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
