Rob And Wendy Take On Pro-Batters
Baseball playoff fever inspired our anchors to channel their inner athletes.
Take a look at what happened when they took on the ProBatter pitching simulator at the Lau Baseball Academy in Hatfield, Montgomery County.
If you want to play pro-ball you better be able to handle a heater.
The Roy's: Oswalt and Halladay are a little busy these days.
So you'll have to "think outside the box" if you want a crack at a big-time hurler.
This will go anywhere from 40-100 miles an hour, said Jerry Cooper of the Lau Baseball Academy.
The ProBatter pitching simulator helps sluggers of all ages and abilities perfect their swings.
It throws a slerve, a slider, a cutter, a splitter, said Cooper. It has anywhere from 6-years-old all the way up to professional.
Somewhere in that scope: a pair of TV News anchors.
For the record: It's harder than it looks!
But a few tips from the coach can go a long way
You're lifting off the ball a little bit, said Cooper. Stay in there.
Soon they're feeling braver inside the batters' box.
And believe it or not, both took a swing at a 100 mile per hour pitch and managed to get a piece of it!
So move over, Howard. And watch your back, Utley.
You guys have done the best of all the news people, said Cooper.
