STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -

Jerry Sandusky's lawyer said the former Penn State defensive coordinator won't attend a hearing this week regarding defense efforts to get information it's seeking to prepare for trial.

In a one-sentence email on Monday, attorney Joe Amendola said Sandusky will not be at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte for the proceeding on Wednesday.

Judge John Cleland is expected to address requests to dismiss subpoenas sent to three school districts and two child welfare agencies in central Pennsylvania. A defense subpoena sent to Juniata College is also expected to be discussed.

If there are remaining pretrial discovery disputes between the defense and prosecution, Cleland is expected to rule on those as well.

Sandusky awaits trial next month on 52 child sexual abuse charges. He denies the allegations.
