The deaths of an elderly couple found shot inside their home earlier this week have been ruled a case of murder-suicide.

Wayne Schmitt, 80, shot and killed his wife, Barbara Schmitt, also 80, and then shot himself inside their home on Rosemont Drive in Jackson Twp., Lebanon Co., said state police in Reading. Their bodies were found Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said they have not determined a motive for the killings, partly because no note was left.
