With winter weather on the way, folks all over are scrambling to make sure they are prepared for the snow.

That means many hardware stores were the place to be on Friday. Many people were stocking up on salt, shovels, snow blowers.

Nearly everyone we spoke with said it's just way to soon for snow. Sal Campano, however, is ready.

"Ah yeah, I love snow," said Campano. "What's the point of winter if no snow?"

Maybe someone forgot to tell Campano that it's not even Halloween.

"I think there may be two inches, but not much more than that," said Bob Trump of Allentown.

69 News chief meteorologist Ed Hanna was forecasting, depending on where you live, three to 10 inches of snow.

Diane Blose of Allentown was stocking her cart full of wood pellets.

"I don't want that at all," Blose said of the snow. "I'm not ready for it."

Despite a forecast that caused a mad scramble, hardware stores said they were ready.

"Shovels, rock salt, snow blowers, we're prepared," said Tom Marks, manager of an Ace Hardware store in Bethlehem.

A winter sales space suddenly popped up at The Home Depot in Allentown, right next to autumn accoutrements.

"Normally, over next few weeks, we set winter stuff up, but it seems everything is pushed up a little earlier this year," said Zach Durin, The Home Depot.
