St. Luke's, Easton pay up for Medicare overcharging
Two local hospitals are paying up to the government after allegedly submitting improper claims to the Medicare program.
Saint Luke's University Health Network and Easton Hospital have agreed on settlements after prosecutors say they billed the federal health insurance program for services that were not eligible for reimbursement.
The settlements cover billing claims submitted from January of 2002 through June of last year.
Easton has agreed to pay more than $450,000while Saint Luke's will be paying more than $1 million.
