Carbon County is expected to benefit from a big chunk of change from Harrisburg.

The Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and Carbon County are receiving nearly a half-million dollars from a pair of state programs.

The money will be used to complete gaps in and improve the Delaware and Lehigh Trail.

The 165-mile trail runs from the Wilkes Barre area through Carbon County and the Lehigh Valley to Bucks County.
