Thousands of faculty members are casting their ballots at Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities, including Kutztown and East Stroudsburg.
Monday morning professors and staff members across the state starting voting on a new contract that was approved by the union last month.
The four-year deal includes concessions on health care coverage, but it calls for pay raises in each of the last three years.
Voting is expected to take a few days, then the ballots will be counted in Harrisburg.
The union has been working without a contract for close to two years.
