STOCKERTOWN, Pa. -

Workers at a cement plant are carrying picket signs again today.

Employees at Hercules Cement in Stockertown, Northampton County went on strike over the weekend.

They were back at it today.

They told us that pay and benefits aren't the problem.

Striking employees said they're concerned about working conditions, including job security and workplace assignments.

We don't want to be out here, said Martin Cory. The union in general does not want to be out here. We feel like we have to be out here. We have to make our statement. Hopefully, it can be resolved.

Hercules representatives told 69 News over the weekend that the company was "surprised" and "disappointed" by the strike.

The said the plant will continue to operate with salaried employees during the strike.
