Learn to eat organically and locally at Phoebe's Harvest Festival in Richlandtown
There's been a huge push in the U.S. over the last couple years to eat organic, sustainable food.
In Bucks County this weekend, you can learn all about it, and of course, get to sample some of it.
Phoebe Richland, a senior healthcare center, is hosting a Harvest Festival: Organic and Local Farmer's Market and Sustainability Fair.
There will be local farmers selling and talking about their produce and growing practices. Several local vendors including Frey's Better Foods and Spice Up Your Life will be showing off their products.
Phoebe Richland says it has started cooking with and using local, organic foods for its residents. Everyone there, from the Director of Dining Services Eileen Goos to staff and the residents themselves, has really enjoyed learning about and eating the foods. This revolution spawned the idea to have an Organic and Local Farmer's Market and Sustainability Fair.
It's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Phoebe Richland's Springhouse Park in Richlandtown. It's free and open to the public.
