Students and teachers are getting to know each other at Brandywine Heights High School in Berks County.

They had a unique first day that included a scavenger hunt and a human chess match.

The goal is to help students of all grade levels become friends.

"Instead of 'I have ten pages of homework tonight,' I'm hoping they go back home saying: 'I met so and so. I never knew that this teacher liked this,'" said principal Heather Piperato. "Again, it's about relationship building."

This is the first "team building day" at the high school. The principal says she hopes it becomes an annual event.
