Trial begins for suspect in killing of Shoemakersville man

READING, Pa. -

The trial has started for a man charged in connection with a deadly stabbing in Shoemakersville.

Authorities have charged Mark Ellis and two other men in connection with the deadly stabbing of 49-year-old Stephen Leibensperger.

Authorities said the men robbed and killed Leibensperger and then left his body in the attic of a home in the 700 block of Chestnut Street in December 2011.
