A 4-month-old Persian kitten that was one of more than two dozen animals living in a homeless veteran's car has a new home.

Tanya Hoover arrived about two hours before the Lebanon County Humane Society in Myerstown, Lebanon Co., opened its doors Wednesday morning.

"Well, I saw a photo of her and she just looked so precious and like, I don't know, how could you not love her? She's just so sweet," Hoover said.

Hoover's husband is a veteran, so she said she has no problem making a $200 contribution to the Lebanon VA Medical Center as part of Dori's adoption fee.

Dori, 23 other cats and three dogs were found living in a homeless veteran's car on the parking lot of the VA center last month, officials said. The veteran had gone there to check herself in to the facility.
