The heat and humidity really took over Wednesday as temperatures soared into the middle and upper 90s under mostly sunny skies.
Warm and muggy conditions will dominate overnight with mostly clear skies and lows around 70 degrees.
Thursday will be another steamy day as high temperatures return to the middle and upper 90s, which could challenge some records around parts of the area.
The combination of the heat and humidity will cause the heat index values to soar into the lower 100s again on Thursday, making it feel quite uncomfortable.
Do what you can to stay cool. Drink plenty of water and try to limit your time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The next chance for a shower or thunderstorm will be on Friday as temperatures top out around 90 degrees.
