It's a brewery known for its bold-tasting beers, and it's made right here.
Despite the funny beer names like Merry Monks, Blithering Idiot, and Old Heathen, Weyerbacher is a brewery serious about its craft.
Dan Weirback was a big home brewer and fan of craft beers.
One weekend, while on vacation in Vermont, he and his wife toured a craft brewery.
"She suggested I start on this path," said Dan Weirback.
So, in 1995, Dan and his wife founded Weyerbacher Brewing Company in Easton.
They moved the brewery to its bigger Line Street location in 2002.
"We make 22 different varieties throughout the year. We have 6 year-round beers," said Weirback.
Merry Monks Ale is their flagship beer and World Beer Cup winner.
"It's almost got a wine-like quality to it and it's extra effervescent," said Weirback.
"I like bold flavors and that's what we do here," said head brewer Chris Wilson.
Wilson helps create the IPA's, ales, and stouts that tickle the taste buds.
"The hops give the beer bitterness, balances out the sweetness of the malt and also gives it an aroma," said Wilson.
The beers are made in Easton, but you can find them on tap in 17 states.
"There's so much out there to beer that many people just aren't aware of until they try a few craft brews and see what it's all about," said Weirback.
