Aerosmith drummer brings message of hope to Berks

SPRING TWP., Pa. - A member of a legendary rock band is bringing his message of hope to Berks County.

Joey Kramer is the drummer for Aerosmith.

He spoke with students at Penn State Berks Monday night about his memoir -- "Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top."

Our cameras caught up with Kramer before the event.

He says throughout the years he's battled drug addiction, alcoholism, depression and anxiety.

And he says he wrote his memoir because he knows there are a lot of people out there suffering from the same things.

"I just people to know that you don't have to be a rock star to crash and burn. I did it and I came out on top," said Kramer

Kramer says he wants people to know even if they go through similar ordeals they can have a happy ending.
