Allentown police investigating 2 armed robberies

Police unsure if crimes are related

Allentown police are investigating two incidents where men robbed people at gun point late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

At this point, police are not sure if the incidents are related.

The first happened at 10:42pm Tuesday in the 1300 block of Turner Street.

Two black men, approximately 5'6" - 5'7" both built thinly, approached two people and demanded money, police said.  One of the men had a gun.  The victims refused to give the men anything at which time one of the men fired a shot but didn't hit anyone.  Both of the actors then ran away.

Early Wednesday morning, around 4:00am, two men, wearing ski masks and armed with handguns approached a person who was parking their car in the 1100 block of Wahneta Street, police said.

The suspects demanded money, checked his pockets, took his wallet and cell phone and ran.

Again, police are not sure the two incidents are related but say there are some similarities in the descriptions of the suspects.
