Allentown police search for missing 'endangered' teen, man

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown police are asking for the public's help in finding a girl and man reported missing.

Police said Amy Yu, 16, and Kevin Esterly, 45, have not been seen since Monday and could be endangered.

According to court documents, Esterly had signed Yu out of her school, Lehigh Valley Academy, without her mother's permission Feb. 9. Officials say he had done so about six times throughout the school year without Mui Luu (Amy Yu's mom) knowing.

On March 5, Luu reported her daughter as a runaway to police and believed she was with Esterly. She also reported jewelry, money and Amy Yu's personal documents missing from the residence.

Esterly's wife, Stacey, told police $4,000 was taken from her bank account by her husband on the same date. Officials say she indicated she last saw her husband on March 5 and his personal documents were also taken from their house.

Police say they could be traveling together in a 1999 red, two-door Honda Accord with the license plate KLT-0529.

Yu is about 4 feet, 11 inches tall and 90 pounds. Esterly is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 185 pounds.

Police have requested a warrant of arrest to be issued for Esterly for interference with custody of children.

Anyone who sees them or may have information should call Allentown police or 911 immediately.
