Allentown robbery suspect arrested

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A man wanted in a strong armed robbery case in Allentown has been arrested.

Robert Burley Jr. 31, was taken into custody Saturday for allegedly carrying out a strong armed robbery back on April 11 in which he stole a cell phone and sweatshirt from another man at 8th and Hamilton streets, according to police.

Police said they were able to track down Burley using a description of his vehicle given by the victim. Burley was taken into custody without incident on Hanover Avenue, police said.

He is being charged with robbery, simple assault, theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Burley was in possession of a crack pipe when he was arrested.

Burley was transported to Lehigh County Prison.
