ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Life at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown is anything but boring. Residents get to try their hand at all kinds of activities thanks, in part, to the center's large army of volunteers. Recently Rob and Wendy got to fill in on the frontlines as part of our Anchors Away series.
Esther, Nancy and Mary are three volunteers who have made a lot of "somebodies" happy during their years of volunteering at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown. >> : DARLENE:
Darlene Altrichter, the Volunteer Coordinator at Cedarbrook says that without their volunteers they could not offer to the residents everything they offer.
And every day is a busy day at Cedarbrook. Residents have to be transported to appointments and to run errands, and there's always cooking class to help out with.
And of course you could also volunteer to help with Bingo! which they have everyday of the week.
But even if you aren't interested in getting involved in all those things, volunteering at Cedarbrook can be as easy as heading down to say hello and talking with the residents.
