PLAINFIELD TWP., Pa. - A small brawl outside a bar turned into a big mess in one part of Northampton County.
And part of the fight was caught on camera.
Four different law enforcement agencies responded to the call.
The fight was so large it stopped traffic on Sullivan Trail in Plainfield Township but the bartender says police didn't get the whole story.
The fight started outside the home of George Kucharik, at 5775 Sullivan Trail, Plainfield Township, Northampton County.
Court records show one of Kucharik's sons told police he saw Timothy Pierce, 48, punch the mailbox.
"The father came out to see what was going on and an argument took place between the guy who punched the mailbox and the homeowner," said officer Brian Roddick, from the Plainfield Township Police Department.
The affidavit goes on say that Timothy Pierce and Gerald Beam, 29, a patron from the nearby Pennsylvania Roadhouse Bar & Grill, were arrested on aggravated assault charges for brutally beating Kucharik.
Police say Beam was one of several people who left the bar across the street to help break up the fight.
"I can't tell you what happened because I wasn't there," said Pennsylvania Roadhouse Bar & Grill bartender, Robyn Skibber. "Traffic was stopped. They were rolling around in the road."
Skibber says what happened after the fight isn't in the police report.
She claims surveillance video of George Kucharik shows him coming after Gerald Beam in the bar.
The men get into a fight, and if you look closely at the video, the video shows a man picking up a log from the porch of the bar.
Then once inside, witnesses say the man throws it at Beam.
"Missed him and the log flew behind the bar," added Skibber.
You can see the log bust the cash register and several bottles.
Skibber says it's hard to believe because at least two of the men in the fight knew each other.
"I wish nobody would get in trouble," added Skibber. "I wish this would have never happened. I mean it was Christmas Eve."
Timothy Pierce and Gerald Beam were booked into Northampton County Prison and charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
George Kucharik wasn't arrested for allegedly throwing the log in the bar.
Police say they are still investigating.
