Bail reduction denied for wrestling coach accused of molesting children

STROUDSBURG, Pa. - A Monroe County judge has denied a motion to reduce the bail set for a man accused of molesting boys while serving as a youth wrestling coach in Monroe County.

Ron Gorman, 51, formerly of Stroudsburg Township, is charged with more than 500 counts of sexual crimes against several boys.

Authorities set Gorman’s bail at $1 million which Gorman argued was excessive.

On Friday, May 12, the judge denied Gorman’s request for a bail reduction.

Gorman, who moved to Georgia in 2009, was arrested in March after being accused of sexually assaulting a boy during a wrestling practice.

Gorman was then extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges he sexually assaulted two boys as a youth wrestling coach in the Stroudsburg area.

Those incidents allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2011.

Gorman denies the allegations.
