Bank robber strikes twice in less than 24 hours

NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - Police are working to catch a bank robber that hit two local financial institutions in the span of 24 hours.

State Police say a man in his early 20's robbed the Wells Fargo Bank in the 4000 block of Route 309 in North Whitehall Township around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the man passed a note to a teller demanding money.

Police say he fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount on cash.

The robber was wearing a yellow long-sleeve button-down shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap with a logo.

The robber's physical description matched that of a robbery that happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Northern Bank and Trust on Nor-Bath Boulevard in Allen Township.

The robber in that incident also demanded cash through a note.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to call state police in Bethlehem at 610-861-2026.
