Berks County sculptor reflects on Joe Pa Statue

Berks County sculptor built JoePa statuei

The Joe Paterno statue students and alumni have been gathering around to remember Joe Paterno was created by an artist from Berks County.

Angelo DiMaria and his team of sculptors created the bronze version of JoePa, which was erected outside Beaver Stadium in 2001.

DiMaria said it's become such an important place for students because it represents the university as a whole.

"It isn't just about Joe Paterno, it's about the students, its about the college, its about the legacy that he has left behind," he said.

The statue has become the prime location where students have left flowers and lit candles in memory of Paterno.
