Berks man sentenced for sexually assaulting special needs woman

Joseph Lombardo will spend at least 4 years in prison.

READING, Pa. - A man convicted of sexually assaulting a mentally challenged woman was sentenced Thursday.

Sixty-year-old Joseph Lombardo of Reading was sentenced Thursday to 4 to 8 years, with 12 years' probation to follow. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

Lombardo was convicted in November of sexually assaulting the woman multipled times between 2009 and 2011.

Officials said he operated a transportation company and drove the victim to and from Special Olympics events.
