Alvernia men advance to Commonwealth title game

READING - The Alvernia men's basketball team defeated Messiah on Wednesday, 81-77, in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals on Jack McCloskey Court. The Crusaders will play at Stevenson for the championship on Saturday.

Alvernia had six players score in double figures. Charles Cooper and Brian Parker had team-highs of 18 points apiece. Chris Davis poured in 12, Kahlil Bennett had 11 while Lamont Clark and Harrison Deyo each tallied 10 points.

The Crusaders look to win their second straight MAC Commonwealth title on Saturday along with clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
