Alvernia softball waiting for offense to wake up

Crusaders eye playoff push once offense comes around

Alvernia softball thinks best days are ahead

READING - The Alvernia softball team racked up 37 wins wins a season ago. The Crusaders aren't playing at that kind of pace this year, but 12-8 is certainly respectable.

Katie DeJulio has taken over the program after leading Wilson to the Berks County softball championship last year.

She says her team has done a nice job of producing runs so far, but the players know they can swing the bats much better.

Once that happens, Alvernia thinks it will be a dangerous team down the stretch as it competes for a playoff spot.
