Bake sale benefits shelter's older animals

EXETER TWP., Pa. - A young woman is raising money to help older animals.

Kyra Hoerr is selling baked goods Friday and Saturday at the May Days carnival in Exeter Township.

Proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue League's Gray Muzzle program. It helps senior and special needs dogs find homes.

Hoerr is a sophomore at Exeter High and this is her fifth year putting on a bake sale.

Over the years, she's raised more than $4,000. This year, the Berks County Community Foundation will match up to $2,000 of the proceeds.
