Baseballtown Charities, GT Church team up on Dream Field

Church sponsoring pavilion, providing volunteers

READING, Pa. - GT Church and Baseballtown Charities have teamed up to build a pavilion at the new Savage 61 Dream Field in Berks County.

The field, designed for baseball players with special needs, is currently under construction adjacent to the Relevant Sports Complex on Old Pricetown Road in Alsace Township.

The 24-foot-by-40-foot GT Church Pavilion, with a misting station placed nearby, will be located down the left field line.

"This pavilion will be the center of meetings, celebrations, and gatherings, and we couldn't be prouder to have a partnership with GT Church to make this happen," said Tonya Petrunak, Baseballtown Charities' executive director. "From our very first meeting, it was apparent GT Church had a passion for helping the Baseballtown Dream League build a place that will be inclusive and truly welcoming for children with special needs and their families."

The partnership with Baseballtown Charities also includes GT Church volunteers assisting when games are being played at the Dream Field.

"The Dream League is making it possible for children of all abilities to participate in America's favorite past time," said Bryan Koch," lead pastor of the church in Spring Township. "GT Church is excited to team up with Baseballtown Charities to provide this opportunity for the families of Berks County."

Construction of the Dream Field will continue through the winter. Registration for the spring 2018 season is underway. Opening Day is set for April 21, 2018.
