Berks businesses soar before Eagles' Super Bowl appearance

'I just can't wait for Sunday'

READING, Pa. - This Sunday, Eagles fans like Judy Butler of Reading have super places to be.

"I'm really rooting for the Eagles," she said. "It's been a long time."

At home with family or out with Eagles nation, fans are getting ready for game-day.

The One Dollar Zone in Wyomissing is seeing customers buying snacks and supplies and, as it would be, some St. Patrick's Day items, if only because of the green.

"A lot of Eagles fans are taking advantage of the green beads," said store manager Zourk Lamany. "The time right now is the Super Bowl, and I just can't wait for Sunday."

The Pike Cafe on Pike Street in Reading plans to make its customers winners with door prizes. Owner Michael Pullano also said he has more than 3,000 pounds of wings.

"We have a hostess who all she's going to do is take-out, take-out orders for our wings," said Pullano.

A man who bleeds green, Pullano pulled out almost all the stops for the big game. Almost.

"I did tell all my customers like a month or two ago, if we go to the Super Bowl, I was going to paint the bar green," he said, "but I had to welch on that bet because we painted the bar a year ago, so the bar won't be painted green, but we're going to have all kinds of green going on here."
