Berks County church rebounds from theft of donation bins

Church rebounds

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. - A church in Berks County is picking up the pieces after thieves stoles two large clothing donation bins.

And church members are proving that the crooks aren't going to prevent them from helping others.

69 News was at the Bethany Evangelical Church in Washington Township where a special clothing giveaway was held Saturday.

People got a chance to pick up some free clothes.

Just few weeks ago, the church was dealt a major setback when two large bins that were filled with clothes vanished without a trace.

The crooks are still on the loose, but clothing donation organizers with the church say the thieves are forgiven.

Robyn Zepp said, "Jesus commands us to forgive. He says we should forgive others like he forgives us."

The church is working on getting new containers, which are about 4 feet by 6 feet.

Anyone with information on this theft is urged to call police.
