Berks County event furthers 'Laney's Legacy of Hope'

Legacy of Hope

SPRING TWP., Pa. - Dozens of folks in Berks County came out to support a newly formed foundation and have a spaghetti dinner.

The inaugural fundraiser for "Laney's Legacy of Hope" was held for four hours inside Wilson High School Saturday

All of the money raised was split between the non-profit and Alex's Lemonade Stand.

"Laney's Legacy of Hope" was formed by the family of 8-year-old Laney Brown, who passed away nearly five months ago after battling a rare form of leukemia.

Jennifer Brown, Laney's mom, said, "We always knew we wanted to do something, as soon as Laney got diagnosed we knew we wanted to do some sort of something for children."

The non-profit aims to raise awareness and monetary support for families of pediatric high-risk cancer patients.
