Jazz Fest puts on concert to thank volunteers

WYOMISSING, Pa. - This year's Berks Jazz Fest doesn't officially kick-off until Friday but some hardworking volunteers are being treated to a sneak preview.

Gerald Veasley and his band took the stage Thursday night at Building 24 in Wyomissing.

Jazz Fest organizers planned the show as a thank you to the volunteers who help keep things running.

"Without the volunteers, we couldn't do this festival. Many of them take a week's vacation to help give their time or talents. So a lot of thank yous need to be said," John Ernesto said.

Organizers say over 300 volunteers are helping out at this year's festival.
