Exeter sweeps Wyomissing; BC earns split with Mifflin

In Reiffton, the Exeter Eagles fought back to defeat the Wyomissing Spartans, 13-12, in overtime. 

The Eagles trailed by as many as five goals in the third quarter, but Dan Botley tied the game with seven seconds left in regulation to force overtime. 

In overtime Darion Einsig scored the game winner.

Bryan Crim lead the attack for Exeter scoring five goals and dishing out four assists.

Scotty McAvoy paced the Spartans with 4 goals and 1 assist.

On the girls side, Exeter (2-0, 3-0) cruised to victory over Wyomissing (0-1, 2-1) in the early game, 21-1.

Hailey Leister netted six goals for Exeter. Morgan Stump added four.

In Shillington, the Governor Mifflin (1-0, 2-0) girls erased a three goal halftime deficit by scoring nine in the second half to earn a 12-7 victory over Berks Catholic (0-1, 0-1) Tuesday night.

Melanie Colozzi scored four goals to lead the charge for the lady Mustangs. Kaitlyn Fink, Emma Jones and Kelly Muenster all scored a pair of goals for Mifflin.

Madeline Hanley tallied three goals for the lady Saints. Maura Robinson added two.

Berks Catholic (1-0, 1-0) and Governor Mifflin (0-1, 0-1) also met on the boys side in Shillington Tuesday night.

The Saints survived a back and forth contest and held on for a 6-5 victory.

McCale Butto dished out four assists on the night for BC. Oliver Hanley and Ian Kubinak each registered two goals.

Matt Shermot and David Suchoza paced Mifflin with two goals apiece.
