Berks man ordered to trial in death of 4-month-old son

Berks man ordered to trial in death...

READING, Pa. - A Berks County man has been ordered to stand trial on all charges, including first- and third-degree murder, in the death of his infant son.

Joshua Eric Leas appeared before a magisterial district judge for his preliminary hearing on Friday.

Leas, of South Heidelberg Township, was arrested in September in connection with his 4-month-old son's death in June. An autopsy revealed the cause to be a traumatic head injury, according to District Attorney John Adams, who said that a pathologist determined the baby had been "violently shaken."

In addition to murder, Leas is charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children. He's due back in court for his formal arraignment in November.
