BJ's Wholesale Club to offer same-day delivery in Berks

Service to be available by end of April

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. - Members of BJ's Wholesale Club will soon have the added convenience of same-day delivery service.

BJ's, with a store in Muhlenberg Township, has expanded its partnership with Instacart to deliver to its members thousands of items, including deli meats and cheeses, produce, meat and frozen foods, and a variety of household items.

"We're thrilled to bring same-day delivery to BJ's shoppers," said Rafeh Masood, BJ's senior vice president and chief digital officer. "BJ's is focused on delivering unbeatable value and convenience to our members; the expanded partnership with Instacart gives members a new and easy way to shop the club without leaving their home."

BJ's and Instacart first joined forces in 2015, offering same-day delivery in a limited number of areas served by the membership club.

"We have seen an incredible response to the partnership and are thrilled to expand upon that partnership to be their exclusive partner bringing same-day delivery of BJ's premium products to even more households across the U.S," said Andrew Nodes, Instacart's vice president of retail accounts.

Same-day delivery will be offered by all 215 BJ's Warehouse Clubs by the end of April. Shoppers can learn more about the service on the company's website.

BJ's announcement comes two weeks after Walmart's warehouse chain, Sam's Club, announced a partnership with Instacart to offer same-day delivery on groceries and household essentials in three markets: Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, and St. Louis.

Sam's Club, which also has a store in Muhlenberg Township, said same-day delivery in more areas is coming soon.

Target, Costco, Albertsons, Aldi, Kroger and Whole Foods also have agreements with Instacart.
