Book Bonanza expands hours for 2013 sale of used books

WYOMISSING, Pa. - The always-popular Book Bonanza is expanding the hours it will be open to book-lovers this years.

The used book sale, with more than 100,000 items available for purchase, will open Thurs., July 11, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., and again on Fri., July 12, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., for those who want the best selection and first choice. The early-bird admission during both times is $10.

The sale will then be open for free admission on from 10 am to 8 pm on July 12, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sat., July 13, and from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sun., July 14.

Sunday's hours, organizers said, are geared toward the most frugal of readers, who can buy a grocery-style bag for $5 and fill it with as many items as they can cram into it.

The Book Bonanza sells mainly books, but also offers a variety of music, DVDs, books-on-CDs, puzzles and sheet music.

For the second year, the sale will be held on the 3rd floor of the VF Outlet Center's red building at 801 Hill Ave. in Wyomissing.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries, AAUW – Reading Branch and the Literacy Council of Reading-Berks.
