'Booms' heard as fire drives family from home in Reading

Fire broke out on Hollenbach Street

READING, Pa. - A three-alarm fire routed a Reading family from its home as snow fell on the city early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out overnight inside a row home in the 300 block of Hollenbach Street.

Neighbors reported hearing a few "booms" shortly after 1 a.m. and then realized a home was on fire.

Neighbors also reported jumping into action to help, including working to get the residents out of the house.

Investigators have not yet been able to determine what sparked the fire.
