Boyertown area schools designated as 'no place for hate'

BOYERTOWN, Pa. - The Boyertown Area School District is taking a stand against intolerance.

The Anti-Defamation League has once again certified the district and its 10 schools as no place for hate.

Special ceremonies are taking place Tuesday and Wednesday at each of the 10 schools in the district, which is made up of parts of Berks and Montgomery counties.

To be designated as "no place for hate," each school formed a committee, adopted a resolution pledging to create a more inclusive school and implemented a number of projects promoting respect for differences, officials said.

The Anti-Defamation League developed the No Place for Hate program to provide a model for challenging bigotry and intolerance in communities, schools and college campuses.
