Brush fire contributed to death of man, 88, coroner says

BERN TWP., Pa. - The death of an 88-year-old man found near a brush fire in Robeson Township has been ruled accidental.

George Bernhard suffered a cardiac event induced by the fire on Sunday, the coroner said Thursday.

Bernhard was burning tree stumps in a field on Rock Hollow Road when the fire got out of control, officials said. About an acre of the field was scorched.
