Buttonwood Street Bridge rehab project delayed again

Buttonwood Street Bridge rehab project delayed again

READING, Pa. - Work to rehabilitate the Buttonwood Street Bridge between Reading and West Reading is being delayed again.

It's now expected to start in December.

County officials said the first phase of the project will involve utility work. Four utilities use the bridge, including the Reading Area Water Authority.

County officials blame the ongoing fight over the water authority's future as a reason for the setback.

Work is still expected to be done by 2016.
