Car goes off Route 724 near Gibraltar, lands on roof

ROBESON TWP., Pa. - An accident involving an overturned car closed a stretch of Route 724 in Berks County for more than an hour Wednesday.

The two-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 11 a.m. in the area of Route 724 and Maple Road in Robeson Township, just west of Gibraltar.

One of the vehicles went off the road, coming to rest on its roof in a ditch. Initial reports from the scene were that three people were trapped in the overturned vehicle.

One person was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries; the other two were taken there as a precaution, police said.

Route 724 was closed in both directions between Maple Road and the Cumru Township line until about 12:15 p.m.
