Cesar Hernandez making transition with Fightin Phils

Hernandez still settling into center field

READING, Pa. - Cesar Hernandez played center field for Reading in Monday's 6-5 loss to Trenton. Hernandez, an all-star second baseman with AAA Lehigh Valley, is being evaluated as a possible replacement for the injured Ben Revere.

Hernandez played his new position adequately on Monday. He made the routine plays, but had trouble with a ball hit deep and at the wall.

Hernandez has played a few games in the outfield with the IronPigs.

He also hit well, going 2-4 with an RBI for the Fightins. Hernandez is expected to play with Reading through the All-Star break, and possibly beyond.
